  Conversation with JW mom on this years memorial date and Nissan 14 discrepancy.

  i'm having an ongoing texting conversation with my mom right now on the march 23rd memorial date.

  she completely goes into cult mode.. me: why is the memorial on march 23rd this year and not april 22nd/23rd when the corresponding nissan 14 commences?

  since when did the organization stop following the jewish calendar for passover?.

  If this organization is not being used by Jehovah, it will fail. Will it not?

  It already does. If you are willing to listen, I can show you why I say that?

  Unless of course you think that JW existing alone is proof enough of Jehovah's blessing.

  But in that any church can claim to be God's people, right?

  i'm not sure how useful this post will be, but i feel compelled to write it.

  with many of my older posts, i wrote them with a younger jw version of me in mind.

  with this i write it with a younger newly ex jw in mind.. ten years ago i went to my presiding overseer and told him my concerns about wt owning 'rand cam' military stocks, about unfulfilled prophecy and human error in the governing body and the theocratic consequences of such.

  just happy to be alive....can barely move ☺.. a girl who just got her license , and a new suv....thought it might be cool to pass the person in front of her....at a curve......on a two way road!!!!!😠😠😠.

  for me, the dead giveaway is this.

  jesus wrote nothing.. stop and think about that.. if jesus were the authentic messiah, his ministry would not simply be local.. his instructions, his mission, the details of his teachings would be too precious to risk leaving it in the hands of "men unlettered (illiterate) and ordinary (blue-collar yokels).".

  jesus, were he the one and only hope of mankind, would be absolutely certain to write down with great simplicity and specificity the exact owner's manual necessary to rescue mankind.. never happened!.

  If a person wrote about himself performing miracles and just being great and on a first name basis with God..... yeah that would be suspicious (Moses anyone?).

  But what if Jesus at least wrote down the parables he (allegedly) told? All the important stuff we really need to know?

  And then 3 gospels written by eye witnesses would be a testimony to Jesus' authority and wisdom, increase his credibility, etc.

  That would really work...

  But now we have accounts written ages later, with some stories almost identical, but with enough contradiction for us to be forced to say 'these are accounts of separate events'...

  How long have there been humans on earth?

  
  

  Just 6000 years as JW believe?

  Go visit a museum with prehistoric artifacts and look for yourself...

  Then think about the implications for trustworthiness of the biblical creation story...

  @Vidiot,

  Same here. Tried to prove to myself evolution is false and JW creation is true.

  Really studying 'Five questions' brochure and looking up sources made me

  1. Despise WBTS for lying to me my whole life
  2. Accept evolution as the fact it is
  3. Question the existence of Jehovah.

  Best way to become an exJW is to really study their literature...

  What TV shows were forbidden in your JW household?

  in the u.s., three's company was not allowed.

  it was explained to me that it was an immoral show because a man and women lived together and no one was married.

  the sister who gave this observation was a family friend and we were newbies to the religion.. at least i somehow managed to watch the benny hill show undetected..

  .I remember one circuit overseer going on and on about how evil they were because some sister supposedly had murdered her husband and soap operas gave her the idea.

  Absolutely impossible that reading the bible gives anyone the idea to murder someone....right? RIGHT??
